Simple Eggnog for 4

Ingredients
  

  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups milk (full cream)
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup rum, bourbon or brandy (or essence if non-alcohol is required)
  • Garnish with Nutmeg

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, beat the egg yolks with 3 Tblsp of the sugar until fluffy
  • Stir in the Milk, Cream and your choice of spirit/ *essence (if using)
  • In a separate bowl, beat the eggwhites with the remaining Tblsp of sugar until soft peaks form, fold into the egg yolk mixture.
  • Chill
  • Serve in glass with grated fresh nutmeg as a garnish.
